Hello parents, this is Jonathan Criswell, Director of Schools for Milan Special School District. My apologies for the late notice. We had a malfunction of our notification system. Tomorrow will be a normal school day for all students. Again, Wednesday will be a normal school day. Students may be allowed to attend the ball game without penalty, but they will need to check-in with Mr. Criswell at the ballgame. Good luck to our girls tomorrow. Have a great evening. Goodbye.

Happy Boss's Day to Milan Special School District's Superintendent Jonathan Criswell. #faMily #MilanLife

Hello parents. This is Jonathan Criswell, the Director of Schools for the Milan Special School District. On this coming Tuesday, October 17, the high school girls’ volleyball team will play in Murfreesboro at 12:00 in the first round of the state tournament. To support our girls’ team and accommodate the community, students have the following three options for school on Tuesday. Again, this is for Tuesday, October 17. First, students may attend school on Tuesday, which includes the running of buses on a regular schedule. Option two, students may attend the game in Murfreesboro and provide proof of attendance. Each school will communicate how game attendance will be documented. The third option available for students is that a parent note may be given to the school on Monday to excuse the student from school on Tuesday, October 17. This parent note will not count against truancy issues or against the five allowed parent notes. With so many students and teachers attending the game, we know the day will not be a traditional academic day, so we want to provide students and families with different options to accommodate your needs. Also, there will be no tutoring on Tuesday, October 17. School tomorrow, on Monday, will be normal. Again, school tomorrow will be on a regular schedule. You may contact your specific school with any questions. Finally, I congratulate our two state tournament golfers, Matt Fry and Emily Foren, on a job well done this season. Good evening, and good luck to our team at the state tournament.

Milan Special School District will be on fall break October 2nd through October 6th.
