Updated Attendance Policy

The attendance policy was updated at last night's Board meeting in accordance with the Tennessee Department Of Education policy on chronic absenteeism.

Students that miss 10% of the school year are considered chronically absent. Districts are required to put measures into place to prevent students being chronically absent.

At Monday night's school board meeting, the Milan Special School District revised the attendance policy. Moving forward, students may submit up to 3 parent

notes per school year, and a maximum of 7 excused medical absences will be accepted annually.
